Senior Year
Senior Year
Heart pounding, hands sweating
my stomach does a flip after reading the words
“You have been accepted”
Excitement, nervousness, sadness
Seventeen years flew by as fast as a racecar and before I know it,
I will be walking across the stage,
diploma in hand
Excitement, nervousness, sadness
Excited for a new beginning and opportunities
But the feeling of nervousness in the form of butterflies
fill my stomach as I realize my whole life is about to change.
Sadness forms tears in my eyes as I realize what college really means:
leaving my hometown and loving family
This chapter may be coming to a close,
but a new one is just beginning
This piece is about the feelings I have about my senior year coming to a close.
