ambiguous
i am lust.
as i use a boy i don’t like
for comfort when i am lonely.
i am love.
as i comfort a shaking friend
while she cries in my lap.
i am gluttony.
as i eat sweet after sweet
blowing the last of my money.
i am self control.
as i put the bottle back on the shelf
because i shouldn't tempt addiction.
i am greed.
as i take from my mother
more than i’ve earned.
i am faithfulness.
as i defend my friend
who’s given me much love.
i am sloth.
as i toss my work aside
and spend hours scrolling.
i am joy.
as i celebrate their achievements
alongside achievements of my own.
i am wrath.
as i scream at my father
for never being positive.
i am peace.
as i sit in comfortable silence
with the one who i admire.
i am envy.
as i watch my friends
hanging out without me.
i am patience.
as i wait for them
to come home and call me.
i am pride.
as i scoff at the girls
who gossip during english.
i am goodness.
as i introduce myself
to the new kid in class.
i am ambiguous.
as my life is filled with double meanings
and i haven't made a choice about who
i am.

This piece was written partially from my perspective and partially from outside experiences that I have witnessed or heard of. I created this to show that every person has both good and bad traits and everyone makes good and bad choices. I paired "fruits of the spirit" with the "seven deadly sins" in order to further my point.
