clipped wings
The ones graced and laced with innocence
Purely dipped in the same fluff as the clouds
What happens when you’ve broken wings?
Seeing the world in a different light
Tinting yourself a darker shade of gray
The further you travel into the pool of responsibility
and up the corporate ladder
Life signed away
All decoratively in a suit and tie
And you sit
Wilting, deprived of sunlight
and chained to a desk
A chance at material wealth
Yet, you’re still the loneliest person here
So go on, sign your life away
To the ball and chain
Lets see how happy that makes you.
