Black Wings
Fallen Angel, fallen from the top.
The depths of depravity, they just won’t stop.
Another of God’s children, fallen from the top.
In the sea of madness, it’s just another drop.
An ocean of misery, an ocean of dread.
Of shattered dreams, of severed heads.
What did their eyes see? What have they become?
They saw something past the misery, something past the blood.
Something magical, something they coveted.
Something fantastical, something bombastical.
A mountain of blood, a river of tears.
All the good in the universe will fall on deaf ears.
Their eyes see stars and delusions of grandeur.
The descent into villainy doesn’t have to be linear.
Limits are meaningless, boundaries are broken.
Redeeming qualities, the worth of a token.
A candle in a closet, blanketed by darkness.
The depths of their evil brought merit by their starkness.
The light at the end was the light at the start.
Sweetness and goodness begin to taste tart.
Misery and evil begin to taste sweet.
The joys of iniquity could never be beat.
When your heart and your actions are darker than coal
You could drown in the ocean and die with no soul.
No one would mourn you, no one would know.
A corpse in the water, dragged down by the flow.
There’s nothing to gawk at, nothing to see.
Hope is far gone, nothing to aspire to be.
Triangles in the water.
Houses of slaughter.
Lands of the dead, evil ahead.
A great many names, their intentions to blame.
There’s only once source, the origin the same.
That was a lie told by a scared mind.
Love and peace is all you’ll find.
Without the contrast there’s nothing at all.
It all melts together, no names left to call.
Love and peace are an eternal goal.
Evil and war are an immediate end.
To end the pain, no price left unpaid.
At the start of the tunnel, our hearts should have stayed.
Fallen Angel, fallen from the top.
The depths of depravity, they just won’t stop.
A villain marked in history, a title of infinite shame.
For all evil in the world, your form will be that of blame.

Evil is a funny thing. When reason and logic fail us we turn to ill-formed concepts and superstition to explain what cannot be explained. Poltergeists, Demons, Possessions. When reason and logic break down we'll come up with ideas so vague and open-ended that they could explain both everything AND nothing at the same time.
