Fruity Tuity
Wee sweet mountains growing on a bush,
they age and age until they are plucked.
They are slashed, dissected, and trimmed.
Any way you eat them is authentic.
The rosy red snack is occasionally sour,
in kuchen or teas, or fresh off the flower.
They have imperfections like all of us do
with distorted shapes and shades of green too.
I knew a girl who took off the numerous seeds.
She was afraid she might grow a sapling.
I knew a boy who ate the grassy leaves.
He said it gave him vitamin D.
I don't care how you eat them
but don't just take it from me.
Try one for yourself and you’ll see,
a Strawberry is the best food to eat.
