He doesn't see me
He doesn't understand that life is art.
He doesn't feel the lyrics to the songs he sings
He doesn't notice the trees dancing with the breeze
He doesn't understand how I see.
I look at life from a different perspective
I look around and see beauty
He looks around and sees nothing.
Nothing invokes that emotion I feel while looking at the sunrise,
Seeing a rainbow after a storm hits,
Hearing the birds chirping the very next morning,
Or hearing the lyrics speak to you from that song on the radio
He doesn't understand why I cry at the sight of the worlds beauty.
He's taken off his rose colored lenses
And now everything is nothing to him
And I can't help but wonder
If I'm nothing too.

I wrote this about an old "lover" who didn't quite understand me.
