This Spring
At first, I mourn the winter days I so loved and spent in melancholy solitude.
Then out peek the birds, dancing and singing, beckoning me to join the new season.
First bloom the daffodils, then the flowering tree, then the tulips.
Green unfolding; more and more each day
Sunshine peaks through, we take note its gentle appear.
It brightens our world, trees glowing green.
It warms our hearts and softens our stiff demeanors
We are lit from the inside, we too now glow
The winter ice has melted off our souls
New energy embraced of life come again
Daises and wild roses sit in a vase on my shelf
Outside the window I see my green forest
We are being fed like floral nectar to a butterfly
A new day embarks for me, alongside the garden of spring.
