11 Ways of Looking at a Lightbulb
Eleven Ways of Looking at a Lightbulb
Beaming in a dark city,
A lightbulb guides a path
The lightbulb from the
Stained glass lamp
Gives a comforting, warm glow
To books and bedsheets
Lightbulbs in cartoons illuminating
A fresh new idea
Edison envisions the modern world
It can be scary when you know someone and get
Used to being around them,
Loving them,
And then they just leave
As if a lightbulb went out in your soul
Life has been an uphill battle
Always barricades and challenges
It’s as if with every step
Broken pieces of lightbulbs are plunging,
Deep within your skin
To the point of being lost
I’m glad the lightbulb is my source of light
Without it, I would be in darkness.
Drowning in my own thoughts
Without my lightbulb, I would be stuck
Not knowing what to do
The energy, voltage, and electrons
It takes to power
Lightbulbs around the city
The lightbulb is the cause
Of being afraid of the dark
The lightbulb guided me back to you,
With the fluorescent beam of light
That matches the inside of your soul.
