I stuffed the Spring into a barrel of oil,

When I took it out,

It was like a mottled old newspaper.

I pasted the red leaves,

Then so I could call it Autumn.

I threw the Autumn into the river,

The river god questioned me.

I declined his Spring,

His Summer and Winter.

I salvaged his shadow from the river,

Then carried it across the bridge,

I thought,

Did he hide the Autumn?

I can only rejoice at the blank Autumn.

Night stars,

Like the wind that makes the night sky messy,

Just that I can’t hear their sound,

But they are blowing towards me.

I asked the shadow of the river god,

What time it is.

He laughed,

Although I can't see that he laughed.

He blindfolded my eyes,

I saw the Autumn,

River god’s hair is just like her golden grass.

When the Shadow died,

I was very sad,

He was drowned by the water.

What a rainy Autumn.

I ran away from the Autumn.

I asked the stars,

Where is Autumn?

They laughed,

They said,

She died.

Died on the morning of November first.

However,

It was too windy,

I can not hear clearly.

I met the river god again,

I met the Autumn again.

Sure enough, he hid the Autumn away from me.

I picked Autumn up from the waters,

And I sped away.

I put Autumn in a jar,

And covered her with the stars,

It’s the way my mother taught me.

But what she said might not be right,

She said,

There is only one river god in the world.
