Friend
You may not know it, but you mean so much to me
It’s those little things you do
That make me smile inside
And make me want to hug you every time I see you
You’re amazing
A tough nut to crack that’s for sure
But I know inside that hard shell of silence
There’s a beautiful girl more precious than diamonds
Today you were that thing I made you
And it made me smile so wide
I know inside myself that there are many good things about
Making a friend of the quiet kid

This is a poem I wrote in June about becoming friends with the quiet girl in my class. If you’re trying to befriend a quiet person don’t give up. The friend you make will be worth it.
