Have you seen it’s pale shadow,

Drifting on the black waters?

Has thou seen it rise into the silvery air,

The armful of tender white blossoms?

For none and thereafter has seen the blood

Splotched across white feathers.

It’s elegant beak quivering on the icy ground,

Shot directly through the heart,

Regression of the surface above,

death of the swan.
