Sisyphus

Barren plants on the edge of death,

Hills until the edge of the horizon,

Colorless clouds hover over the landscape

The terrain was always a second thought

The boulder is lost and therefore me

My hands are empty, my body wrong

And my soul as if it’s outside of itself

My stomach aches, like a boulder

Is crashing into its walls, yet simultaneously

Completely still.

My mind cant hold my thoughts

so it spills out into my body.

Aching, quivering, and quaking

I do not know torture, but I know

That it starts today.

And the worst part is that it’s my own

Unrelenting thought that shoves

The dagger deeper, and deeper.

The meaning of life and death

Will forever be my new curse.
