O' the Blessed Land

Humanity and peace is what they proclaim

Disguised as peacemakers

Only hatred they exclaim

Raging war like its a game

The Holy Land is what it's known as

Like this will years pass?

From ‘67 and now fifty-seven years later

And soon we hope they will be the narrator

The cries of innocent children they ignore

Survivors will surely reach the shore

Palestine, the Blessed Land!

Land of the Prophets (peace be upon them) and martyrs

Land of those martyrs with unbreakable faith

To their Lord did they turn to in moments of despicable oppression

Claiming their land was their only confession

And so for this their lives are destroyed?

Simply for claiming their land recorded in history

Or is history repeating itself?

Soon this won’t remain a mystery

As those oppressed are gaining undeniable victory

And the oppressors will be humiliated with disgrace

Although they act as if they have no clue

The help of their Lord is to come

The promise of their Lord is true

Precious souls are of value

In the name of their Lord have they sacrificed

And to Him will they return

And for the Blessed Land does the longing hearts yearn

The author's comments:

This poem was written to bring awareness of the occupation that has been going on for years and still is in Palestine. This isn't a religious issue, rather it's about true justice. Each individual should take part in doing anything within their ability to spread awareness to stop this current day genocide.
