I don't want to fall in love with you
I don’t want to fall in love with you
because it is nothing but chemicals released in my brain.
I’d rather grow in love with you
and together endure our pains.
I don’t want to fall in love with an image of you
because then you’d feel the pressure
of maintaining perfection.
I’d rather live in what’s true
and accept every single imperfection.
I don’t want to rely on the mere feeling of love
to keep our connection alive.
Human’s emotion is but fickle
and our partnership will need more to thrive.
I want to choose to love you
because then I’ll know it’s not a delusion.
It will not matter what will occur
if that choice becomes a conclusion.
Allow me to show you a love that transcends feeling.
I will give you a love that is based upon action.

I wrote this poem with my "teammate in a two-person team" in mind. Most of the poems and pieces I write are about him... I truly just enjoy expressing the passion I have for this boy in a medium like words to share to others.
