Baggage
Do i miss you, or the idea of you?
I have no way of knowing.
For i haven't seen you,
Heard you,
Spoken to you.
in many days,
Hours,
And minutes.
Because you left.
You left me.
Left me with mountains of baggage i never asked for
Cursing me to carry it and slowly drop it off as i go through the motions of life.
And it angers me
As i have dropped off many of the suitcases, carry-on duffels, and travel bags
Only left with the blankets, miniature airline pillows, and cheap slippers
I think of the time we spent together,
days,
Hours,
And minutes.
Slowly drifting away as time and space move through the motions of life.
In the ever-lasting age of our existence
But you continue to move on,
Like a plane taking off,
Forgetting a bag.

This piece represents the emotional baggage my father and ex-friend left me with, both narcissistic, and I used this poem to express the feelings I've been feeling towards them.
