a cough a day,
that’s what i say,
my strange lab partner
holds the cough in,
like it’s a sin,
because every day i
say, that he must
be sick, and trust
me when i say,
he must hold it
in all day, it
must be held, it
must be saved specifically
for chemistry class, prolifically
so that it rings
out, with a loud
and hardy crack sound,
it doesn’t help, that
i, turn suspicious eyes
on him, with surprise
and teasing written on
my face, but in
the end, i grin,
‘cause i was messin’.

I wrote this piece with a bit of humor so that I could make a poem out of the inside joke that me and my chemistry lab partner had.
