barest bones for drinking
what i want to know is,
how to handle clocks winding backwards and the pieces of paper
that say words, nonsense in the windchimes for i am leaving,
the porch screen rattles with the clang of everything falling out of place
and i don't want to burden you with thoughts, with aches that
come with pills from pharmacies where smiles can be bottled but
never really sold.
what i mean is,
it's taking too long to forget.
