Chimney's Candle
I brought it up,
It wasn't discussed,
I dealt with the feelings.
I put them on lay-a-way.
Best-Friends,
Not giving each other up.
Those feelings still burn-
A fire bright and hot,
It tingles underneath my skin-
making my logic go cross.
But now,
If we were to discuss it-
I'd hide them away for fear.
Because that flame
is just a candle's flicker,
and I fear it will become,
a Chimney's Fire.
That flicker
will be aflame forever.
Raging inside of me
as a reminder-
Of the love I couldn't catch.
And every-time I see you,
The flicker sends a spark,
like a flare sparkling my insides.
Creeping a little forward,
warning me of the coming fire,
that burns up all my logic.
Your 'rights' is the wick,
that allows the wrongs to burn.
Your beauty is the scent,
of the things being mixed.
The flame will always exist
on your long-lasting candle-
Growing in the space
around the center of my love-
where the Chimney's still not touched.
Waiting,
for the oxygen to come.
