in Crete
in Crete,
from the depths of my crying imagination
we drove into Iraklion,
there my memory told me
that we had at last
entered a modern city
my ever so hopeful
illumination was thinned,
to rubble-
graffiti scattered over one another
strangling the buildings
with anarchist symbols of
DESTROY EVERYTHING occupying
entire buildings of once
sophisticated professors
universitylaws
no one would ever call
for the camoflauged men
standing on the streets
pandemonium flickering
themintheeye
while pseudo-rebels smoked
HASHed out
fighting against the _______
for reasons they couldn’t even
begin to UNderstand
narcissistic cults, cut crying
children on the street
while superficial cause
burns the city to the rubble of machinery
while the fourteen
year old begger, sitting on
dam(n)-ped cardboard
her baby sister, dangling
in her arms, taunted
please help me please
i can’t take it anymore
please, they’re everywhere
please stop, screaming
in your brother’s face
i should have stopped him
i should have
but dumbfounded
,,,,,i stood there by reality
and i can’t even walk
down the street without
angst, get me out of here
at last
