Goodbye...
Sometimes, I think
People don't know
Exactly what they're saying
When they state
"I wish I had gotten the chance to say goodbye."
Because they are unaware
Of what it feels like
To want to hold on
Knowing that what
Or who
You're saying goodbye to
Is going to slip through your fingers
No matter what you do
Or how hard you try
To long for just one more moment
Of happiness, and bliss, and true love
And once again be disappointed
To have that one thing
In this world
That you want, need
More than anything
Ripped away
And all you can do is protest
But it will accomplish nothing
No one will feel you kick
And no one will hear you scream
You're all alone
Once again
It's not the first
And it won't be the last time either
And it doesn't matter
How many times it happens
You'll never get used to it
It'll never get any easier
And you are familiar with this idea
All too well.
