Hate me if you want
I don't care
Just as long as you are still alive.

I did what I had to
Did what you needed.
Someday you will realise that too.

I know it hurts right now
and all you want to do is hate me
But I can handle that better than living without you.

You are my best friend
An answer to my prayers
So I told.

Hate me if you will
Just don't hate yourself
I did it to help not to hurt.

This is about my friend and it is merely addressing any kind of self harm, including drugs and suicide, that they were thinking of at the time.
