Because I'm too High
I remember
As a kid.
I would always
Chase the birds
Just to see them fly.
Because their wings
Were like an angel's.
So gallant,
So pure
Like that of a
tear.
I remember
Closing my eyes
And allowing the wind
to stroke my hair
Just so I could feel
Like I was flying
Up in the sky
With them.
I remember
That tug in my
Gut.
That feeling of such
Despair.
Knowing I couldn't be
Free
Like the sparrows.
I couldn't be high
In the sky.
Have the taste of
Clouds
Lingering on my tongue.
Soar through the
Rain.
And know
No
One
Can
Touch
Me
Here.
