The Avengement
All the world is broken apart
Spilt away, chipped in splinters
We ghost this land of no heart
Through the summers and the winters
There is only rubble left here.
No more gleaming cities of stone.
The joy has left with the cheer
And for their hate we must atone.
But I see the day when it will come.
When our black skies will clear,
Distant are the thuds of the war drum
The time is coming, it is near.
The devils and demons will rise again
And from the heavens angels fall--
To fight and twist, rip and bend
Till’ there is nothing left at all.
And the Devil will rise, cold and still
With sword in tow and shade in hand
Of our lives he will take his fill --
An avengement upon this dark land.
