Breakup
Caustic words come from your mouth
My voice is lost
You’ve slowed down time
My questioning face turns your fake compassion into fear
You wrap your arms around me
While tears fall from my eyes
Your inaudible words mean nothing
My heart only sees you
Making sure that I was ok,
You look at my face
And pity my sorrow
While muttering more nonsense
To console me
Forgetting that your words paralyzed me
You walked away
Leaving confusion
As a keepsake of our memories
