Nighttime
Night has come, the sun has set.
Darkness swarms like a threat.
People scurry home, skulls covered with sweat,
to get in before the haunted hour.
Everybody succeeds, but still they cower.
Every clock, at midnight, strikes,
waking up things that leave some spikes,
spikes that penetrate the soul.
Evil spreads beyond control,
always succeeding their ghastly goal,
leaving behind an everlasting scar.
Monstrous things that never heal, they are.
They leave destruction in their path
to let everyone feel the wrath.
Still, everyone will survive,
and live to see the sun arrive.
