Little Pup
I sit on your bed
and hear a strange sound
A wet salty thing fell on my head
I look up at your eyes
They are pink all around
I don't understand
Why does your face leak
I lick your cheek
and try to understand
why isn't the pup eating
the food by her bed
she's all skin and bones
she is almost dead
I pick up a tender piece of beef
with a strange silver object
that my pup uses to eat meat
I put it to her lips
"eat my pup," I whine
Though she can't understand
she looks at me
her wailing stops
though the tears still flow
"You care for me more than any guy would,"
I don't understand her words, but wag my tail
the little pup takes a bite
and starts eating her food
I sigh in relief
at least now my pup lives
If you read this please don't be like my pup
take care of your self
and don't worry your mothering dog
we love you even if you think your all alone
and we'll love and remember you
with a broken heart if you gone.
