Midnight Secrets
By: Paradise of Hell
I don’t sleep anymore, when I heard
Midnight is my calling hour
When I say hello to the night world
That new CD has never been played
That puzzle never seemed to get finished
That life was never born
Tap my finger upon the dry wood
Clear my throat, whisper random words
The night air envelopes me
That dream was gone with the wind
That car was never made
That internet was down all day
The wind makes harmony with the grass
The moon sang a thousand songs
And I hummed with the nature calling my name
That dress was never worn
The newspaper was never printed
That dumb cell phone lost its signal
When you put aside that technology
Maybe you would than hear me
And hear the world that you’ve been ignoring
The pain of an American solider
The homeless shivers and chattering teeth
The arguing of a divorce couple
That boy went to sleep tonight
That grandmother rests in peace
And you close your eyes
So sleep and let your mind at ease
And every night I’ll listen to the world
If you strain hard enough you’ll hear the music
But you’re sleeping, but I don’t sleep
Midnight is my calling hour
When I say hello to the world
