Today it Snowed in Georgia MAG
Today it snowed in Georgia – it never snows in Georgia
Today I looked out my window
I saw the flakes fall and cover the ground in white
And watched, almost unbelieving as it covered the mud and the dirt
I smiled at the snow and for a split second
I truly believed that it brought peace, hope, and love
But then I turned from the window
And I heard the fighting – the yelling and the hate
And I realized that no matter how much it snowed
And now matter how much the snow covered
That the dirt would always still be there
And a single tear fell down my cheek
Because of the closed windows and locked doors
I knew that peace would never come into my home
Just like it never snows in Georgia.
Today the snow melted
And I watched it go
And I waved good-bye
As the dirt became exposed
