Pavement.
The communal bulletin board
Of the young and playful
Messages of merrymaking
Scrawled in powdery purple
And pink, “Call Me”s
Spelled out in careful shapes, hoping
for a response.
Sunny, bright, covering the sidewalk
The lighthearted imaginings of children
Ramblings and rants
Screams from broken hearts and
Shouts of joy!
But soon drops pitter and patter,
Nature smearing out the conflicts and
Dreams.
Wiping the slate clean
For the next to come.
