Time has a way of betraying us
A tendency, a knack
Of taking things of beauty
And distorting beyond belief
I remember your gentle hugs
I remember the kisses good night
But time spares no relationship
I am fatherless now
Time has a way of changing us
Twisting how we see
Time taught me a careful art
The art of cold betrayal
A medium we all will learn
Time will teach us so
And while we betray each other
It is Time who betrayed us first
