Writer's Block
Pen to the paper,
Mind awhirl,
Crackling pages,
Scribbling hand,
Faster,
And faster,
Handwriting,
Messier,
And messier,
Words flying on the page,
Less,
And less,
White.
More,
And more,
Black.
Then –
Silence.
One last line,
The pen stops.
The paper ceases its crinkling.
The brain stops.
She thinks –
Harder,
And harder.
She stops.
Everything stops.
Except time,
Minutes tick by.
She ponders her words.
There is nothing,
More to say.
She puts her pen down.
She grasps her head.
She gives up.
Frustrated,
Irritated,
Agonized,
She throws down her journal.
She walks off.
Annoyed.
