Insomniac
Why these racing thoughts at night,
my bright eyed, beautiful boy?
Dark secluding your every dream,
it’s come to steal your joy.
Miles deep but she isn’t lost,
a misplacement of feelings it could be.
Your heartache chooses to remain,
she is a love you long to set free.
Close your eyes, they black, they tire,
you’re needed of some rest.
These thoughts are soon to leave,
peace to a heaving chest.
There’s no blame for the way you feel,
two years and maybe more.
Your sadness is expected,
nights of weeping, your eyes stay sore.
Moving on, always easier said than done,
but when will your heart find peace?
Lips un-kissed, hands un-held,
searching for sweet release.
You’ll find another love to take hold,
a girl so fair, the angels sing.
You’ll lock inside and never let go,
another hand to hold a diamond ring.
So why these racing thoughts at night my love,
close your eyes and dream to another song.
When morning rises, your heart awakes,
you’ll see, she’s been here all along.
