Do You Remember?
Do you remember
the flickering stars?
The ones we watched
on the shore of the lake.
We’d lay there together
your hand in mine
and watch as the stars,
on us would shine.
And the fish would jump
in the glistening waves
as echos rolled out
of the distant caves.
Do you remember
those magical caves?
The ones we would hide in
‘till the break of dawn.
We would shout and yell
or make up a song
just to hear
the echoed sound.
Do you remember
the game we played?
You’d run away
and I would save you
from whatever monster
you had run into.
Do you remember
the things I said
whenever I saved you
from the terrible thing?
I told you I’d always
be there to save you.
I said that I’d never
ever forget you.
Will you keep
the promise we made?
That when we grow up
we’ll still be the same.
I’ll hold your hand
and save your life,
You’d love me always
and be my wife.
