Autumn Leaves Falling
Every year around this time
I wear my heart on my sleeve
And the teardrops pat the ground
Without a sound
Just like the falling autumn leaves
I know your fight is over
And that this is a blessing in disguise
But I lost a friend and role model that day
So I selfishly hang my head and cry
I do thank God for the time we did have
No matter how short it might have been
And I know when I get to Heaven
I'll see your smiling face again
So just remember that it's not goodbye forever
Just goodbye for now old friend
