The Mouse Who Stirs on Christmas
‘twas the day before Christmas
So during the evening I could go for a creep
For I am the mouse who on Christmas does stir
After grooming and preening and combing my fur
I search for cookie crumbs that have fallen to the floor
And I nibble away until I can’t eat any more
Then I seek eggnog and I take a sip
I wipe my mouth with a napkin but just the tip
When my belly is full and I can hardly move
I hear a Christmas tune that makes me want to groove
I hoist myself up and waddle around
Then my pot bell pulls me over and I fall to the ground
I lay there and laugh feeling quite jolly
Inhaling aromas of gingerbread and holly
I stay awake in hopes to see a dear old friend
Oh how I hope he will return again
I’m so tired and I try to stay awake
I just can fall asleep that would be a mistake
I curl up by the fire place and my eyes being to close
I am so so tired more than anyone knows
Before I know it I’m asleep and dreaming sweetly
I wake up rub my eyes then fold my blanket neatly
I stumble ever so gracefully
Open my eyes and what do I see a heap of presents all for me!
