A Night Sky
The world around me is dark
Except for the beams of light
Breaking thorough the high branches of trees
And reaching my tired eyes
It is quiet, peaceful
Crickets chirp rhythmically
The leaves of the trees rustle
And the footsteps crunch as I step through the grass
A cold night breeze chills up my spine
And blows my hair in my eyes
I smell the scent of pine trees
And taste the sorrow of fallen dreams
And I take his hand, feel his heat
As we watch a shooting star
And we walk into the darkness of night
Together
