My Best Friend
We met in second grade
Two little girls.
All we cared about was
Laughing and talking about boys,
And playing with barbies all night.
I remember the first time
We went trick-or-treating,
We thought it was a blast.
We have told each other all our secrets,
The good ones and the bad,
I'm pretty sure that two hours
Is the longest fight we have had.
Every afternoon we spent at your House after school,
Singing our favorite songs,
And planning our future years,
You have always been there to dry My tears.
I was there for you when you had rough patches,
As you were for me,
From some of them I think we are
Still recovering.
I remember when you moved to a new town,
We both couldn't believe it,
I don't see you as much anymore,
I really wish I could.
School is getting harder,
And it seems like time is slipping
Through our fingers.
The weekends and breaks go by fast,
Not much time to hang out anymore.
I love you, my best friend,
My sister.
