Bedtime Stories and Fairytales
I want to go home
Because this place
Which is leaking lies off weakened walls
Is not safe
I know where my heart wants to be
In a chamber that can keep my love warm
And keep it away from thieves.
But I let my mind lead the way to an empty warehouse
To a chamber that stirred my emotions
And kept them warm for the moment..
Only to slip to someplace cold and dark.
I let myself believe the stories and fairytale of
"I love you" and "Together forever"
Once you open the book and take in
The experience..your whole life will change
You will slip away from the real thing
(The thing that was so close you could touch it
And love it.)
Only to find yourself in a world of fiction
Creating images with words burned into your mind
To make your heart beat with solemn lies
To reach for something to hold--only to realize it was just your imagination..
Dissolving away into a mist that has always been there.
It's time to let go...
And live in reality.
