In Death's Slumber
Do all chances fade from reach
When the hearts petal wilts
Will I say just one more word
If in desperation I stonily lie
In a slumber where none can wake
My sleeping form sleeps on
But can I have just one last chance
When I have long since gone
To say a single word to those left behind
Who clutch the shadow of my icy hand
And wish for a sole word of hope
If only you can promise, promise to me
A couple syllables to whisper
When deaths throttle takes hold
And my fighting ceased to matter
For death does not let lone
When all I seek are the syllables
Of a single word to slip
Between my softly parted lips
Like silver ribbon of the soul
To send back from freedoms’ cage
And tell of stories untold
