Way Back When
A classroom filled with people
I had know all my life.
Drooling on my desk,
disregarding the time I had
with the people I didn't know
I cared so much about.
The bell rings and
I laugh and run in the schoolyard.
Creating drama
and causing trouble.
I had centuries of time.
Not a care in the world
when every day was a new adventure.
Nothing would ever change.
How I wish I could go back to when
having fun was a way of life
and best friends were forever
and life had a purpose.
