Longing for December
August will beg my release,
Sunsets will seal the goodbye.
Lonely swings will talk of memories,
And my ring will kiss me goodnight.
September will wallow in pain,
Hollow halls will hate its persistence.
Cold pillow will say it’s okay,
And the tissue will hold me close.
October will bring nostalgia,
Cadaver leaves will carry his essence.
His sweater will whisper sweet songs,
And Halloween will bring solace.
Each day I will long for November,
Until then, tender touch I’ll remember
