Our hearts mesh slowly together
To match the beat of the second going by
A single tear streams down my face
Like a clear ribbon
As the reality of his true pain
Sets in.
The cancer was finally going to take him,
God was taking him from me.
It may sound selfish
To feel that way,
But when he was

Only
Thing
I had left in my life
It was hard not to.
