à vivre
so the old man died,
his face knew lines, his feet also.
young self knew the country falter,
knew the second world war,
knew a pretty girl he didn't marry,
knew another he did.
new boots to turn old boots,
to be weathered and worn.
the cycle, the spinny spinny spin
of things.
we turn 'round in circles,
obligatory,
we rotate with the earth,
and what is our axis?
here is a lifetime, thousands hyphenated thousands,
what did you breathe in and breathe out
for?
this little baby, tiny child,
tad premature,
eager to flutter to
heart beat excessive outward.
your palm a tenth of mine,
gasp quickly now,
new existance.
a seed to grow, to twine
and curl.
