Saviour
When the rain
Pours down on me
And the pain is
More than I can take,
You're always there.
Ready to soak up my
Mistakes like one of those
Cheery, bright-yellow sponges
That's just a little rough
Around the edges.
Like an old pair of jeans,
you remind me of times
Not so long ago when I thought
That everything would be okay,
And even though I know that
Those times are gone I
Still want to store the last of
The strength you give me
Somewhere deep inside
Until the day that I can return
It to you and you need it more
Than I.
And while I cannot
See your wings,
And I don't believe in heaven,
I know that you are an
Angel sent down to me
From the stars themselves,
Because you are made of light.
