Gift of nature
Lightening strikes the ground
flashes before my eyes
the flame of the candle
fights against the wind
a single blade of grass
shifts in the afternoon breeze
under and apple tree
a dog sleeps
Nature is all around us
if we only take a moment to see
listen to the crickets and frogs
sing to the midnight sky
a flower opening in the morning sun
the smell of dew on the field
sunrises set the mark of a new day
sunsets let us know we made it through okay
in the night sky, stars give us hope to wish upon
as they watch over us in our sleep
just take a moment
and let go of everything
feel the sun on your skin
and the rain on your lips
close your eyes and be still
