Standing outside,
Feeling the joy of the clouds
In their tears
As I tilt my face
Upwards to the rain.

Spinning happily
On the soft, slick grass
While drops spatter the pavement
As I listen to
The sound of the rain.

Breathing deeply
To inhale the heralding
Of the renewal of life
As my body fills with
The sweet scent of rain.

Falling slowly
Into the smooth, damp
Cushion of leaves
As I open my mouth
To taste the rain.

Quietly forming puddles
In the dips of the path
And rolling down trees
As I tilt my head
To see the shimmering rain.

Stretching out my hand
Under the gray and blue sky
Shivering a bit in the chill
As I vainly grasp
To feel the silky rain.

It is in moments like this;
A spring shower,
Summer thunderstorm
Or autumn gale
That I feel truly alive

Thanks for expressing the joyfulness of raindrops, and the feel of rain!

I love the rain, too! Why do so many people complain about the rain? In dry countries, children dance in the rain. I love to walk in the rain, and there is plenty of it here!

I love weather. Basically, I'm inspired by the weather, recent books I've read, and my friends from school.

That exact scenario has occured outside my house more times than I can count. :)

The more I think about it, the more I find weather and nature to be my muse...

Thanks!! Like, sincerely thanks!! Because I always do run around in the rain, and my friends think I'm crazy and my mom tells me to get back inside so I don't get struck by lightning. But I love the rain, and you phrased the way I feel about it perfectly!!

I love this! Most poems use rain as a debressing background, and I read them, because I love the rain and the title catches my eye, but you have truly captured the joy and serenity only a deluge can bring. Thank you!
