Street Murder
Here I lay
Dying on the side of the highway
Soon to be numbered - insignificant
Among the many
Thousands of corpses
Burning in effigy
How stupid of me
To have tried to cross
The busy avenue
Without holding your hand
And no one cares.
Traffic speeds by.
Their lives continue.
As mine ends
Unnoticably.
Overwhelming apathy
Yet it's not surprise
For I am nothing more
Than road kill.
