Color Me Jealous
We arrived together.
The nausea of jealousy descends
As her blue meets his slate.
But it’s not like I haven’t seen red before.
And even though I try to remain beige,
The haze comes down
Like fog after the rain
Mingling with this long sought after pain.
Look at him. Can he not find comfort in one?
He’s yellow.
The way he looks at her
And her glittery spun golden hair
Makes me green.
They twirl together, and I stare.
Alone I stand, sad clear drink in lonely hand.
She dances, dark aubergine, alight with the night.
Emerald clouds my vision as her crimson nails claw my guy,
Red lips glowing and violet dress bright.
She goes nicely with his lavender tie,
While I remain in white.
