the cloak of darkness
The cloak has fallen
The cloak of darkness fell from the bright and beautied head; the sun
Just as children, mankind blew out their candles, and switched off their lights, the cloak covered the land.
Those golden hills of wheat where the wild darts among every farmers field,
Those grassy and hearty plains where buffalo graze and deer frolic,
The flowered valleys where sunlight showcases every flower,
Those moss-filled forests where magic happens beneath if you believe,
The mysterious deserts which stand with sand flowing though the air reaching out to the sky,
Those wicked tundras, where the lights of north play with the wind,
Those wondrous, wild waters which ribbon themselves to the shores,
The cloak of darkness had covered all the misty mountains that stretch toward every cloud,
The cloak of darkness, with stars and plants, sewn into it’s hood, the cloak that watches our every move, the cloak of darkness: night.
