Death's Wish
I went in the classroom for sixth period today
Having a feeling that something was wrong
I couldn't put my finger on it,
But my gut was telling me to run
I shrugged it off and walked to the back
Taking a seat by all my friends
The bell started ringing, as we became quiet
Because the teacher had just walked in
The class was almost over, when the doors slammed open
And a man with a gun walked in and yelled
"Anyone who moves or pulls out a phone
Will get shot right where they stand"
Some girls screamed while other boys tried
To take that pistol away
He pulled the trigger and some of them fell
With blood flowing out in a spree
I ran to help the men on the ground
But a bullet got me in the heart
I fell as the boys did, blood flowing out,
Smack down, right onto the floor
I closed my eyes, hand on my wound,
Knowing it was my time to leave
But then there were sirens out in the distance
And the shooter shot himself quickly
There was yelling and screaming and people running
To help the ones almost dead
I closed my eyes, fighting the pain
But I guess I lost in the end
The next thing I knew, I was in a room
Surrounded by family and friends
They all had tears running down their face
And my mom was squeezing my hand
I smiled at them and shook my head, saying,
"I know you'll miss me and I love you all,
but today is the day I leave
We'll all see eachother again in the end,
Just wait and you will see..."
My eyelids dropped, but still I saw
An angel all dressed in black
She came from the heavens
With a halo above and brought my soul to rest
Now I'm an angel, watching over you all
With love and care in my heart
Hoping one day, you'll join me too
From this eternal journey on earth.
